The short version. We collect what you type into our forms, what any visitor can see about your business online, and basic records of visits. We use it to run the free check, follow up when you ask us to, and do the work you hire us for. We don't sell it. Email [email protected] and we'll show you what we have or delete it.
Who we are
pitx is run by Josh Solis, doing business as pitx, in Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas. pitx isn't a separate company. When this policy says “we”, it means Josh. You can reach him at [email protected].
What we collect, and why
The free check (pitx.ai/check). You give us a business name and city, and you can add a website and a business phone. To run the check we:
- load your website's public pages the way any visitor's browser does, and read what they show (including the software versions the site announces);
- search Google's business listings and OpenStreetMap for your business by name, city, phone and address;
- may look up whether the listed phone number is a mobile, landline or internet line (a lookup through Twilio, no call).
We keep each check and its result, and the business becomes a record in our system. We don't keep your IP address: we store a scrambled version of it, changed daily, so we can limit how many checks one visitor runs. When the form's human check is on, it runs through Cloudflare Turnstile.
When you ask us to follow up. If you leave your name, phone or email and tick the box, we save them with your check and Josh gets an alert on his phone (through Telegram) so he can get back to you. We only use them to contact you about your results and our services.
Phone test. If you ask us to test your business phone and agree to it, we call that number up to three times and note how each call went (answered, voicemail, how long it rang). Whoever answers hears a short recorded message saying it's the pitx phone test.
Booking a call. Bookings go through Cal.com. They send us what you enter there (usually your name, email, the time and any notes) so we can prepare.
Calls with us. When you call a pitx number, a message at the start tells you the call may be recorded. We record both sides of the call and turn the recording into text with an AI transcription service. We use recordings and transcripts to follow up, to keep notes on what we discussed, and to test and improve the AI phone answering we build before it answers real customers. Sales calls we hold with you may be recorded and transcribed the same way, and we'll tell you first. If you don't want to be recorded, say so, or email us instead.
Paying us. Payments go through Stripe. Stripe handles your card details; we never see or store your full card number. We keep a record of what was paid and when.
Email from us. We sometimes email businesses at addresses they publish, or that business contact directories list for them, about something we noticed on their website. Every email has a one-click link to stop all further emails from us, and we honor it right away.
Preview pages we make from public information
We sometimes build a concept website for a business before we've met, from public information: its Google listing (name, hours, address, rating and reviews), its own website's text and photos, and public records. These previews are clearly labeled as concepts, aren't the business's official website, and search engines are told not to list them. Share links are protected by a code and expire.
Every preview has a “Remove this preview” link in its banner and footer. Use it and the page comes down right away. You can also email [email protected].
When someone opens a preview, we record the visit (the page, when, the browser type and the same daily-scrambled IP) so we know whether it was seen. Some previews include a chat assistant: what you type there is sent to an AI provider (Anthropic) to write the reply.
Visits to pitx.ai
We don't use advertising trackers or third-party analytics on pitx.ai. Our own server logs and the visit records above are all we keep. A preview you unlock with a code sets one cookie so it stays unlocked. All traffic to pitx.ai passes through Cloudflare, which protects the site and sees visitors' IP addresses to do that.
Websites and forms we run for clients
If you fill in a form on a website we built and host for one of our clients, your message goes to that business, and we keep a copy so the form works and nothing gets lost. That business decides how it uses your message.
Who we share it with
We don't sell personal information. We share it only with the services that help us do the work:
- Hetzner (our servers, in the United States) and Cloudflare (protects and delivers the site);
- Google (business listings, and transcribing call recordings), OpenStreetMap (business search) and Anthropic (AI writing and chat);
- Twilio (calls, texts and phone lookups), Cal.com (bookings), Stripe (payments), Resend and Google (sending email) and Telegram (alerts to Josh);
- business contact directories we use to find a business's published email address;
- anyone the law requires us to share it with, or someone who takes over pitx's work, under this same policy.
How long we keep it
We keep records while they're useful for the work: checks, leads and notes until you ask us to delete them, and client records for as long as you're a client and for a while after, for taxes and billing questions. Previews you remove come down right away.
Your choices
- Ask what we have about you or your business, and get a copy.
- Ask us to correct it, or to delete it. We'll delete it unless we have to keep something for taxes, a dispute or the law, and tell you if so.
- Stop our emails with the link in any of them. Reply STOP to any text from a pitx number.
- Take down a preview with its “Remove this preview” link.
Email [email protected] for any of these. We'll reply within a few business days.
Security
Our servers are reachable only through Cloudflare and a private network, sign-in is by key, and backups are kept on our own servers. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects your information, we'll tell you.
Children
pitx is for businesses. It isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change matters for information we already have, we'll tell the people affected.
